Duties:

  • Handle defense of wage and hour litigation, with a preference for class actions.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery in wage and hour litigation with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in depositions and motions involving discovery issues.
  • Develop and implement discovery plans effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in wage and hour litigation defense, preferably with class action experience.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with California and federal wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal/rest periods.
  • Strong deposition experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft motions, particularly opposing motions for class certification.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and convey professionalism and competence.
  • Proven track record of follow-through and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly in drafting legal documents.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of litigation software and tools is a plus.
