Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Intake Attorney to join its immigration practice in Houston, Texas. This role focuses on the initial client intake process, legal strategy development, and identifying potential forms of immigration relief. Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Review and assess intake forms, documents, and case details submitted by prospective clients

  • Identify potential immigration relief pathways and determine case viability

  • Recommend legal strategies and services to potential clients

  • Respond to legal questions from prospective and current clients

  • Provide input and guidance to the intake sales team regarding legal issues and client prospects

  • Supervise intake paralegals and virtual assistants to ensure accurate and timely data collection

  • Monitor and manage tasks within the firm’s case management system for active leads and new cases

  • Communicate regularly with the immigration legal team to align on strategy and client service

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, detained cases, EOIR proceedings, citizenship applications, and USCIS procedures

  • Experience managing multiple cases and advising clients in a fast-paced legal setting

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with legal and administrative teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (Texas license preferred)

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

  • Proficiency in legal case management software (preferred)

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
