A law firm seeks a Labor And Employment Associate Attorney for their Aspen, CO, location.

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess 3-6 years of experience with California employment law and be licensed to practice law in California. They should be strong writers with excellent analytical skills, capable of handling depositions, and administrative hearings, and serving as second chair in trials. A federal clerkship is highly desired.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in various labor and employment matters, including discrimination claims, wage disputes, and employment contract issues.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on employment-related matters.
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on complex cases and projects.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably in California.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience taking depositions, handling administrative hearings, and trial experience is preferred.
  • Federal clerkship experience is highly desired.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • Federal clerkship experience is preferred.
