Patent Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a highly skilled Patent Attorney to provide comprehensive counsel to clients on intellectual property matters, particularly focusing on patent prosecution. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3+ years of experience in patent prosecution and must be an active member in good standing of the Patent Bar.

Duties:

• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of intellectual property law, with a primary focus on patent prosecution.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Conduct patentability searches and analyses.
• Assist clients in developing patent strategies and portfolios.
• Conduct intellectual property due diligence for corporate transactions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar in North Carolina or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
• Active membership in good standing with the Patent Bar.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience practicing patent law, with a focus on patent prosecution.
• Strong understanding of patent laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Education:
