A law firm is seeking a talented Lateral Oil and Gas Associate Attorney to join their team in Houston. This position involves providing comprehensive legal counsel to corporate strategic and private equity clients within the oil and gas industry.

 

Job Overview:

  • Advise clients on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures in upstream and midstream sectors.
  • Handle oil and gas-related commercial contracts, carbon capture, and sequestration projects.
  • Manage general matters related to oil and gas law.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Draft and review transaction documents.
  • Manage and negotiate oil and gas-related commercial contracts.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure legal compliance and strategic objectives.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.
  • 3-6 years of experience in oil and gas law.
  • Significant experience in upstream and midstream M&A transactions.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas and real property law.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Texas State Bar.
