Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team in Paramus, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing insurance defense matters, particularly personal injury litigation. Below is a detailed job description:

Job Overview:

The Insurance Defense Attorney will represent clients in insurance defense cases, focusing on personal injury litigation. They will handle all aspects of case management, including but not limited to conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, attending court hearings, and negotiating settlements.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, primarily focused on personal injury litigation.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and legal arguments.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations as required.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on insurance defense.
• Strong litigation skills, including experience in all phases of litigation.
• Current license to practice law in New York and/or New Jersey, with New Jersey licensure considered a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
