Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to handle removal defense cases before EOIR, immigration issues, visas, and related legal matters. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality legal counsel, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely completion of all tasks while delivering exceptional client service.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal defense cases before EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review)
  • Handle immigration issues and visas, including immigrant and non-immigrant visa categories
  • Provide legal counsel on immigration law and related legal matters
  • Address any additional legal issues that arise in immigration cases
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all client matters
  • Ensure all deadlines are met promptly
  • Deliver high-quality client service throughout all interactions

Requirements:

  • Expertise in Immigration Law, including knowledge of visa categories, immigrant and non-immigrant visas, and EOIR cases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
  • Sound judgment and ethics, respecting confidentiality and attorney-client privilege
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • License to practice law in Illinois or another state
