Patent Agent

The firm is seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent to collaborate with the Intellectual Property (IP) team, catering to the ever-evolving patent and technology needs of the valued clients. Candidates experienced in prosecuting patent applications within the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, with a strong inclination toward additional expertise in chemistry or biochemistry are invited. Working in close tandem with the IP attorneys, your role will encompass drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, representing clients in Patent Office proceedings and patent litigation, and offering comprehensive patent prosecution support.

Key Responsibilities include conducting patentability assessments, third-party patent searches, and assisting the IP team with patent diligence for mergers and acquisitions. Your expertise in patent application drafting and prosecution, coupled with adept patent database search skills, will be crucial in elevating the client service. The ideal candidate should possess substantive academic and professional knowledge and thrive in a collaborative law firm environment, showcasing excellent time management skills suitable for the fast-paced practice. An undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, along with a USPTO registration number, is mandatory, while an advanced technical degree is strongly preferred.
