A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for its Plano, TX location.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice. They will manage a portfolio of contested litigation matters, act as lead counsel in litigated proceedings, ensure client communication, and maintain compliance with legal requirements.

Duties:

  • Oversee and supervise all legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice.
  • Manage a portfolio of contested litigation matters.
  • Act as lead counsel in all aspects of litigated proceedings, including response, discovery, motion, trial, post-judgment, and appellate practice.
  • Ensure clients are kept informed regarding the status of litigated cases.
  • Provide guidance to operational staff regarding the implementation of procedural changes and approve such changes as necessary.
  • Ensure the firm’s litigation practice is compliant with state, federal, regulatory, and client-directed legal requirements.
  • Monitor for state, federal, and regulatory changes, and recommend process modifications as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts.
  • 3-5 years of required experience as lead counsel representing financial institutions in contested matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research applications such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or other related systems.
  • Jurisdiction-specific experience in handling contested default matters and banking litigation preferred.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
