Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking an Insurance Coverage and Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for drafting coverage opinions, analyzing claim documents, litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions, and providing insurance coverage services to clients. Duties:

• Draft coverage opinions and review and analyze claim documents.
• Review and assess policy language, including updating policy language as necessary.
• Litigate declaratory judgment and bad faith actions in New York and other jurisdictions.
• Provide a wide range of insurance coverage services to clients.
• Handle declaratory judgment and bad faith litigations from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Experience with both state and federal court proceedings.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of solid experience handling coverage matters and litigating declaratory judgment actions.
• JD from an ABA-Approved law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Experience providing coverage assessments to clients, including experience with various types of insurance policies.
• Current New York Bar admission in good standing.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-Approved law school.
• Current New York Bar admission in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Ability to review and assess policy language.
• Experience with litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions.
• Knowledge of various types of insurance policies, including private equity, fiduciary, errors and omissions, D&O, commercial general liability, and property policies.
• Experience with both state and federal court proceedings.
