A law firm in Atlantic City, NJ is seeking an Education/School Law Associate Attorney to assist with initial case evaluation, litigation strategy development, and representation of clients in various legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree, be admitted to the New Jersey Bar, and possess strong advocacy, research, and communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Assist the Attorney in initial case evaluation and development of litigation strategy.
  • Build relationships with clients and local boards of education to ensure prompt case resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft correspondences, pleadings, appeals, and appellate briefs.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including discovery, motions, and trials.
  • Assist in preparing settlement agreements, motions, and briefs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
  • 1+ years of legal practice in education law preferred, with a thorough knowledge of New Jersey Education laws.
  • Demonstrated skills in advocacy, mediation, and interviewing.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work in a deadline-driven practice.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software programs.
