Job Title: Principled Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Chicago, IL is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated probate litigation attorney with a focus on decedent’s estate litigation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in probate litigation and estate planning. The firm is looking for an individual eager to build on a successful litigation practice while helping to expand an established estate planning practice. This is an in-office role that requires a high level of professionalism and experience in managing legal proceedings related to the decedent’s estate.

Duties:

  • Meet with clients to discuss probate litigation matters

  • Draft and prepare all necessary legal documents related to estate planning and litigation

  • Represent clients in court, providing counsel in probate litigation cases

  • Maintain excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines

  • Adapt to changing environments and maintain a positive attitude

  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in decedent’s estate litigation

  • Proven experience in estate planning and administration

  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage a growing litigation practice and collaborate on expanding an estate planning practice

  • Positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar

  • Certification in relevant areas of probate law (preferred, but not required)

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of probate law and estate planning

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities

  • Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills

  • Excellent communication and client management skills

  • Ability to handle complex legal matters and work autonomously
