A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Portland, ME. The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of state and federal litigation matters and administrative law cases. The ideal candidate should possess superior research and writing skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, hearings, and trials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex litigation and administrative law issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Develop case strategies and provide legal advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff on case-related tasks and projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Attend court conferences and hearings, as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Maine Bar.
  • 4+ years of work experience in state and federal litigation matters and/or administrative law.
  • Prior federal or state court clerkship experience preferred.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Maine Bar.
