Patent Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney to join their team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI technologies and a strong background in computer science or related technical fields. They will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and advising clients on patent matters related to AI innovations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications for AI technologies.
• Collaborate with inventors to evaluate new AI innovations for patentability.
• Conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Stay updated on the latest AI technology advancements and patent laws.
• Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.
• Provide legal counsel on patent-related matters about AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Assist in the deployment of AI models to production environments.
• Maintain knowledge of domain-specific AI fields such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, and natural language processing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Familiarity with AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
• Proficiency in preprocessing data, selecting features, and training/tuning models.
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active member and in good standing of TX Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
