A law firm seeks a seasoned employment law attorney to bolster its Health Human Resources Practice Group in Indianapolis, IN. This position offers the chance to advise premier health care clients within a collegial, supportive environment that emphasizes professional growth and teamwork.

Duties

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of workplace statutes (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Wage and Hour) to shape strategy and counsel clients

  • Lead or participate in employment-related litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and other dispute-resolution forums

  • Collaborate with senior counsel on complex cases and support trial preparation

  • Guide administrative staff on client billing, meetings, invoicing, and project wrap‐up

  • Prepare and review employment policies, handbooks, and compliance materials for health care organizations

Requirements

  • Active admission to the Indiana bar

  • 3–6 years of hands-on employment law experience, preferably with a health care focus

  • Demonstrated familiarity with federal and state employment statutes (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Fair Labor Standards Act)

  • Proven track record in employment litigation or related dispute resolution

  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy abilities

  • Self‐starter who thrives in a collaborative, multi‐state practice setting

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Indiana Bar admission (required)

  • Any additional labor/employment certifications (e.g., SHRM‐CP, PHR) are considered a plus

Skills

  • Expertise in drafting and arguing motions, briefs, and employment-related pleadings

  • Proficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration

  • Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, strategic guidance

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capacity to manage multiple matters concurrently
