A law firm in Redwood City is actively seeking a Junior to Mid-level Patent Prosecution Agent with 2+ years of experience. The successful candidate will interface directly with counsel and engineers at both established and emerging tech clients, benefiting from knowledge and experience in various subject matter areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, rockets and space-oriented payload delivery, automation, computer networking, encryption, graphics and animation, and computer gaming/e-sports.

 

Duties:

  • Interface directly with counsel and engineers at tech clients, both established and emerging.
  • Assist in managing and executing patent prosecution and counseling in diverse technology areas.
  • Provide support in legal advice on subject matters, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, space technology, automation, and computer networking.
  • Collaborate with patent attorneys and internal teams to develop comprehensive patent strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to patent prosecution.
  • Assist in drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office or ability to qualify.
  • 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution and counseling.

 

Skills:

  • Technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, or computer science.
  • Ability to interface effectively with engineers and clients.
  • Legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
