Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney who will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney. The candidate will manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. The role involves advising clients on legal rights, attending pretrial hearings, managing court appearances, drafting motions, and providing legal analysis. Experience in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels is preferred, and bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.

Duties:

• Manage caseload and client interaction
• Collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team
• Advise clients on legal rights and draw up legal documents
• Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on best strategies
• Manage court appearances, trials, and legal research
• Analyze probable outcomes using legal precedents
• Provide legal analysis for clients to determine case benefits
• Accrue additional evidence to support client's case or counter prosecution charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts
• Handle complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels
• Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred
• Utilize interpersonal skills of the highest caliber

Experience:

Previous experience handling complex criminal cases (federal, state, local)

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Admitted to practice law in the state of California
• Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber
• Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred
