Job Overview:

The Senior Criminal Defense Associate Attorney will provide expert legal counsel to clients facing federal, state, and local criminal charges. They will manage all aspects of criminal defense cases, from pretrial hearings to trial, while maintaining high professionalism and legal expertise.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their case
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing
  • Manage court appearances trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research
  • Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage the workload of cases efficiently and effectively
  • Provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits
  • Accrue additional evidence to support the client's case or refute prosecution charges
  • Prepare clients for testimony and strategize case goals
  • Gather information from witnesses and experts to support the client's positions

Requirements:

  • 7-15 years of Criminal Defense Experience
  • Trial experience is highly preferred
  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing)
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in criminal defense are advantageous
