Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of legal experience specializing in intellectual property (IP) law. Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in various technical fields, focusing on computer science, electrical engineering, and related areas.
  • Conduct patentability and infringement analyses.
  • Communicate with clients regarding patent strategies and prosecution matters.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal professionals to ensure effective patent prosecution.
  • Assist with patent portfolio management and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of legal experience, preferably in intellectual property law.
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patents, particularly in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar technical disciplines.
  • Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus.
  • Familiarity with networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless network technologies, or similar areas is preferred.
  • Admission to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
  • Bar licensure in California is advantageous.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.

Certifications:
