This position is ideal for a trial-ready attorney eager to take the lead on both misdemeanor and felony matters. The role involves direct client interaction, courtroom advocacy, case management, and the opportunity to develop creative defense strategies in high-stakes situations. The selected candidate will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with significant autonomy and responsibility.

Duties:

  • Represent individuals facing misdemeanor and felony charges across various jurisdictions, primarily in the metro-Atlanta area

  • Conduct hearings, negotiate with prosecutors, and argue motions

  • Perform client intake interviews and provide legal counsel throughout all stages of the case

  • Draft legal motions, briefs, and other relevant documents

  • Analyze discovery, including police reports, witness statements, and forensic evidence

  • Coordinate with investigators and expert witnesses to build a case strategy

  • Participate in jury and bench trials as first or second chair, depending on experience

  • Maintain detailed case records and adhere to court deadlines

  • Appear regularly in courts within Cobb County and surrounding areas, including Decatur

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia

  • Demonstrated experience in criminal law and courtroom practice

  • Familiarity with Georgia criminal statutes, procedures, and local rules

  • Comfortable managing a diverse caseload with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to travel to nearby counties for hearings and client meetings

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar is required
