Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-level IP Associate Attorney with 2 years of in-house or law firm patent prosecution experience. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Chemical Engineering (B.S.), Chemistry (Ph.D.), and/or Organic Chemistry (Ph.D). They must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and possess excellent academic credentials. The role requires adaptability to evolving needs, effective teamwork, and the ability to handle pressure while meeting deadlines.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications
  • Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal teams to understand and assess inventions
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and due diligence related to intellectual property
  • Assist in patent litigation matters, as necessary
  • Draft legal documents, opinions, and correspondence

Requirements:

  • 2 years of in-house or law firm patent prosecution experience
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering (B.S.), Chemistry (Ph.D.), and/or Organic Chemistry (Ph.D)
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
  • Excellent academic credentials

Education:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Ph.D. in Chemistry, and/or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
