A law firm in Irvine is seeking a Lateral IP Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have top law school credentials and significant experience in IP/patent litigation. Undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or similar fields are highly preferred. Experience with CAFC clerkship and PTAB disputes is advantageous.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to intellectual property and patent litigation matters.
  • Assist in all aspects of litigation, including case investigation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings as required.
  • Manage case files, deadlines, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on case strategy and execution.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on IP litigation matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 3-6 years of experience in IP/patent litigation.
  • Top law school credentials.
  • Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related fields (preferred).
  • CAFC clerkship experience (preferred).
  • Experience with PTAB disputes (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • IP litigation experience.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Case management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Technical background in engineering or related fields (preferred).
