Thompson Hine is a mid-west based, AmLaw200 firm with a reputation for having a strong chance of partnership and good people to work with. Reviews of the firm from attorneys and others who have worked there generally speak positively of the opportunities to work with smart people, the collaborative culture, and the overall culture of innovation and flexibility. Employees appreciate the good pay and nice environment, as well as friends and helpful co-workers. However, some of the reviews also point out that the benefits can be expensive for families, the compensation is lagging, the work/life balance is not great, and the management in the Atlanta office can be a nightmare. Despite this, many people still have a positive overall experience at Thompson Hine and find it to be a good company to work with.

Extremely professional work environment. Senior partners cultivate mentoring program for younger associates. There was opportunity and encouragement to participate in volunteer community activities.ConsAs with any large firm, there is pressure to comply with billable hour requirements. The particular practice group I was involved with, was considered a secondary practice area so was looked ""down upon"" a bit by managing partners.

Cons: I recently had the unfortunate experience of working at Thompson Hine LLP and it was a terrible place to work. The attorneys were arrogant and consistently talked down to employees, making for a hostile and unpleasant work environment.
