Polsinelli’s Litigation Department Welcomes Andrew F. Newman as Shareholder

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes business litigator Andrew F. Newman as a new shareholder in the firm’s Dallas office. Newman joins the firm’s growing Commercial Litigation practice, which has established itself in the areas of business litigation, real estate litigation, and class action defense. Newman adds to that experience with a deep background litigating business disputes involving software development, contract claims, real estate, construction and franchise agreements across the technology, retail and manufacturing industries.

Newman works with clients to help manage nationwide litigation dockets, ensuring a consistent, efficient approach across jurisdictions. He has extensive experience defending failed software development cases, advising on commercial lease and real estate disputes and assisting with contract disputes, fraud/DTPA claims, supply chain disruptions and defense of product liability claims. Newman also has trial experience in state and federal court and has arbitrated disputes before the American Arbitration Association.

“The addition of Andrew further deepens our team of accomplished litigators,” said Brian Bullard, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Dallas office and chair of the firm’s Investment Capital Solutions and Investment Funds practices. “His capabilities paired with his experience to practice on a state and federal level, makes him invaluable to not only the firm but our clients as well.”

Recognized as a top-rated attorney in Dallas, Newman was named “Best Lawyer in Dallas” by D Magazine in2022 and was named a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2014 to 2017. Outside of the firm, Newman has been active on the alumni board for Texas for America, DFW Region, the City of Dallas Judicial Nominating Committee, and the Budget Review Commission for Dallas Independent School District.

“We’re pleased to have Andrew join our Commercial Litigation Practice as he brings a range of capabilities to the firm,” said Polsinelli Litigation Department Chair Farah Nicol. “With his experience as an accomplished litigator, advising clients in various industries, we’re confident that Andrew will play a key role within our Litigation Department.”

Newman earned his bachelor's degree at The University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. at The University of Texas School of Law, where he was the associate editor of the Texas Law Review. Following law school, Newman served as a judicial law clerk in the Northern District of Texas.
