Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes Dallas IP Litigator
Summary: IP litigator Mark Nelson has joined Barnes & Thornburg in Dallas.
Barnes & Thornburg announced the addition of a patent litigator to their Dallas office. Mark Nelson will join the firm from Dentons, where he was a partner in the Intellectual Property Department. He brings extensive experience with large, multifaceted infringement cases to the law firm.
Managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Dallas office Mark Bayer said, “Mark adds a national practice in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries that fits very well with the rest of our firm. Adding someone with his reputation will help us grow the IP department in Dallas and will attract other practitioners that sync with our core practices, client base and firm culture.”
Nelson has over 20 years of patent litigation experience in federal courts and with the International Trade Commission. He also assists clients with post-grant proceedings. His work with patents covers all areas of high-technology such as telecommunications, financial services technology, semiconductors, gaming, internet services, biotech, medical devices, and computer software and hardware.

Nelson earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his B.S. and M.S. from the University of North Dakota.
