Quarles & Brady Strengths Chicago Office
National law firm Quarles & Brady LLP made an addition to their Chicago office. Sherina Maye Edwards joined as a partner in their Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Practice Group.

The national practice group chair, Thomas McElligott, said, “Sherina’s knowledge and experience in the energy industry are second to none. We are extremely pleased to have her join the Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Practice Group.”

Edwards previously served five years on the Illinois Commerce Commission as the youngest commissioner in the state of Illinois. She will focus her practice at Quarles & Brady on electric reliability, natural gas, water, and critical infrastructure issues. She has extensive experience in regulatory work such as analyzing, formulating, and implementing public policy in the state.

Edwards said of her move, “The combination of Quarles & Brady’s national, full-service platform and flexible, collaborative approach to servicing its clients makes it a great platform from which to service the energy community’s legal needs. I am excited to take the next step in my career with such a phenomenal firm to develop a dynamic and robust energy regulatory practice.”

Edwards earned her J.D. from Howard University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Spelman College. She founded the Women’s Energy Summit and Women’s Energy Network of Chicago.
