The Dallas office of Barnes & Thornburg has welcomed a new partner to their Litigation Department. Elizabeth Brandon is joining the firm from Vinson & Elkins LLP.

With over 10 years of experience as a litigator, Brandon will be an added strength to the team. She will focus her work on complex commercial litigation by assisting companies, officers and directors with class actions, public M&A, securities litigation, corporate governance and fiduciary duty disputes, and shareholder derivative litigation. She also has expertise with director independence, regulatory compliance, disclosures, and investigations by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Managing partner of the Dallas office, Mark Bayer said, “Elizabeth’s arrival exemplifies the firm’s ability to attract top legal talent with strong business acumen, particularly in the Dallas market where we are growing exponentially. Elizabeth will be a tremendous asset to our growing litigation bench in Texas and will provide thoughtful counsel to clients involved in complex matters.”

Since the office opened a year ago, they have added ten attorneys, including Brandon. The most recent hire was of corporate attorney John Wilding. He had spent the past 11 years in the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins.

Brandon earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, a M.A. from the University of Texas Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, and a B.A. from Texas A&M University.
