Fund Finance Partner Joins Mayer Brown in London

Mayer Brown, an international law firm, has further strengthened their finance capabilities with the addition of a fund finance partner. The London office welcomes the addition of Liz Soutter from Dentons to their Banking & Finance group.

Soutter will focus her practice on debt financing solutions for mainstream and alternative asset classes and investment funds. Her experience advising investor call bridging, portfolio acquisitions, and management fee line facilities is quite extensive. She brings with her clients that include both domestic and foreign lenders, borrowers and sponsors.
“We have a preeminent fund practice in the US and in response to the growth of the industry we continue to expand the team globally,” said Zac Barnett, co-leader of the Global Fund Finance practice. “Liz has impressive experience representing banks and funds in various fund financings and her arrival enables us to build on our cross-border capabilities and further diversify our European finance offering.”
“Liz is a welcome addition to the wider finance team as she brings considerable expertise in the broad suite of fund finance products and joins us at a time when we are seeing increased activity in the European market from both established and new fund financers,” commented Dominic Griffiths, co-leader of the Global Finance practice.
Mayer Brown has brought on several new members to their team, including an addition to their Fund Finance team. Iva Philipova joined the team earlier in the month from Reed Smith. The London office has seen Perry Yam, Mathew Kidwell, Guy Wilkes, and Kieron Dywer join different practices.
