Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis Ditch Summer Program for Apprenticeships

In what has been a rather difficult time for law students, one Nashville-based firm, Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP, is dropping their summer program and instead offering 3Ls a six-week fall apprenticeship program which will serve as a lead up to a permanent position.

The apprenticeships will pay $10,000 dollars for the programs, which will run from August through October. The firm will make offers upon the completion of the program, on October 14. This marks a departure from the traditional methodology in which 2Ls were offered jobs before the start of their 3rd year

Director of Professional Recruiting for Waller, Kathleen Pearson, said ''Recruiting two years out is not very helpful for us or any law firm. We can't predict what clients will need and in what practice areas.''
