Government Attorney Jobs

There are many different kinds of government jobs in the legal arena. A legal government job is any job where the lawyer works for a governmental entity or agency instead of a private law firm or company. An example of a federal legal government job is a staff attorney for the United States Department of Justice. An example of a state legal government job is a deputy attorney general for the California State Attorney General's Office. An example of a county government job is a deputy district attorney for the County of Los Angeles. Lawyers who work in government jobs typically do not earn the same high salaries as lawyers who work in the private sector, but many government lawyers enjoy job satisfaction because they generally work more normal hours and because they are able to work in "public service" and thus feel a sense of pride in serving the greater interest of society.
