Job Title: Senior Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A San Diego-based law firm is seeking a seasoned Senior Litigation Attorney with deep experience in real estate litigation and financial services matters. This role involves representing clients in a variety of complex legal disputes, including mortgage-related claims, transactional litigation, and general creditor-side proceedings. The attorney will handle a full caseload, lead courtroom appearances, and collaborate across legal teams. Ideal candidates bring strategic insight, courtroom tenacity, and a proactive mindset to advance client outcomes.

Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of litigation matters involving residential real estate, mortgages, and commercial disputes

  • Conduct mediations, trials, hearings, and other courtroom proceedings

  • Perform legal research, draft pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and discovery documents

  • Engage in strategic litigation planning and case evaluation

  • Handle client communications with professionalism and responsiveness

  • Travel occasionally within the region as required for hearings or meetings

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and special legal projects

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and firm leadership

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California

  • Minimum 8 years of litigation experience with courtroom proficiency (real estate or foreclosure experience advantageous)

  • Dual admission in Texas is considered a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously

  • Experience with both state and federal court procedures

  • Strong legal writing, drafting, and oral advocacy skills

  • Familiarity with evidentiary procedures and the introduction of evidence

  • Skilled in legal research using tools such as Fastcase or Westlaw

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution

Certifications:

  • California Bar admission in good standing

Skills:
