Associate Attorney needed for Purchase office

A law firm in Purchase, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to manage a caseload with oversight by partners. The candidate will handle various aspects of litigation, including drafting motions, conducting depositions, attending court conferences, and trial preparation.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload under the supervision of partners.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and writing memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and inspections.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Consult with expert witnesses and attend mediations.
• Prepare for trials and participate in trial proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York or certified for admission.
• Connecticut admission is a plus.
• 1-5 years of experience handling general liability and/or professional liability claims.
• Superior analytical and communication skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in New York or certified for admission.

Skills:

• Litigation experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage caseloads effectively.
• Experience representing architects and engineers or handling complex construction claims is a plus.
