A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a highly skilled Energy Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing complex energy and natural resources transactional work, with a focus on M&A, project development, and commercial agreements. This role requires expertise in both renewable and conventional energy sectors, including oil and gas, and the ability to handle financing transactions. The successful candidate will manage intricate transactions on tight timelines, interact with subject matter experts, and supervise junior lawyers and legal support staff.

Duties:

  • Manage complex energy and natural resources transactional work, including M&A, project development, and commercial agreements.
  • Handle renewable energy transactional work, encompassing M&A, joint ventures, build-transfer agreements, and various commercial agreements such as PPAs, O&M Agreements, Shared Facilities Agreements, and procurement contracts.
  • Oversee conventional energy and natural resources transactional work, with a focus on oil and gas.
  • Manage engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy generating facilities.
  • Handle financing transactions within the energy and natural resources sector.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of demonstrated experience in a sophisticated law firm environment.
  • Proven track record in managing complex energy and natural resources transactional work.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in the state of Colorado.

Advantageous Experience:

  • Engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for renewable energy generating facilities.
  • Financing transactions in the energy and natural resources sector.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills to handle complex transactions on tight timelines.
