Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking an associate to join its Real Estate Equity group in Los Angeles. This role is focused on advising clients on sophisticated commercial real estate equity transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings. The ideal candidate will have experience at a top-tier firm and the ability to lead and support complex transactions across a broad range of asset classes.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in structuring and negotiating joint venture agreements and equity investments

  • Advise on the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate assets and portfolios

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, and related documents

  • Handle real estate financings, including construction loans and mezzanine debt

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate closings and transaction execution

  • Conduct legal due diligence and risk analysis related to real estate investments

Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on equity transactions

  • Prior experience working at a nationally or internationally recognized law firm

  • Substantial exposure to joint ventures, acquisitions, and financing agreements

  • Strong understanding of real estate investment structures and ownership models

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (California preferred)

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities

  • Deep knowledge of commercial real estate law and equity structuring

  • Ability to manage complex transactions and multiple clients simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Team-oriented mindset with sound business judgment
