Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with a minimum of one year of experience in civil litigation. This full-time position focuses heavily on real estate and construction litigation, requiring the attorney to lead cases from start to finish. The role involves direct interaction with clients, drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

Location:

• Seattle, WA (with potential for some remote work upon request)

Duties:

• Lead and manage civil litigation cases, particularly in real estate and construction litigation
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
• Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery
• Take and defend depositions, including 30(b)(6) depositions
• Engage in pre-trial motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Provide legal consultation to clients on a variety of civil matters
• Draft demand letters and other client communications
• Collaborate with other attorneys within the firm to achieve successful case outcomes

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of experience in civil litigation
• Strong background in motion practice, including handling dispositive motions
• Experience with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Familiarity with mediation and arbitration processes
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the Washington State Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to client success
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Trial experience is a plus
