Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm is seeking a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in criminal law, including prosecution or defense. The ideal candidate will hold a current Minnesota license and exhibit exceptional time management skills, the ability to manage a significant caseload, and work effectively within a team. On-call availability is required on a set, yet flexible schedule, with occasional holiday availability needed. Duties:

• Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including arraignments, trials, hearings, and appeals
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients facing criminal charges
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies
• Negotiate with prosecutors to reach favorable plea agreements or settlements
• Advocate for clients' rights and interests in court proceedings
• Prepare legal documents, including motions, briefs, and appeals
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel

Requirements:

• Current Minnesota license to practice law
• 3-6 years of experience in criminal law, including prosecution or defense
• Strong understanding of criminal law procedures and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a significant caseload and prioritize tasks effectively
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment
• On-call availability with occasional holiday availability

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
