A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Madison, WI.

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and hold either an undergraduate or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field. This individual will be responsible for developing and applying litigation skills across all stages of IP litigation, from pre-filing investigations through appeals. The role involves conducting pre-suit due diligence investigations, managing complex discovery, negotiating discovery processes, handling motions and hearings, taking and defending depositions, and drafting various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, pre- and post-trial briefings, and appellate briefs. The candidate is expected to have a strong academic record, exceptional organizational abilities, and excellent communication and writing skills.

Duties:

  • Develop and apply litigation skills in various stages of IP litigation, from pre-filing investigations through appeals.
  • Conduct pre-suit due diligence investigations.
  • Manage complex discovery processes.
  • Negotiate discovery matters effectively.
  • Handle motions and hearings.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and pre-and post-trial briefings, as well as appellate briefs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field is preferred.
