Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to represent mortgage lenders and investor clients in real estate litigation matters. This role involves handling a variety of contested cases, including commercial and residential foreclosure, title disputes, and property-related litigation. The attorney will participate in courtroom appearances, develop case strategies, draft legal documents, and engage in settlement negotiations. A flexible work-from-home schedule is available for qualified candidates.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of contested real estate and foreclosure litigation matters

  • Represent residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors in state and federal courts

  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and motion arguments

  • Develop case strategy and provide ongoing updates to clients

  • Review loan files, title reports, and relevant documentation

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement documents

  • Handle litigation involving evictions, HOA/COA disputes, title claims, and probate matters as applicable

  • Conduct settlement negotiations and client consultations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant civil litigation and motion practice experience (5+ years preferred)

  • Experience in residential and commercial foreclosure litigation strongly preferred

  • Understanding of Texas mortgage foreclosure law and the Texas Code of Civil Procedure

  • Probate and default servicing litigation experience is a plus

  • Comfortable managing a high-volume caseload independently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license and good standing with the Texas State Bar

Skills

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment

  • Organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills
