Job Overview
A national law firm is seeking a Michigan-licensed Attorney to join its creditors' rights and real estate legal services team. Duties

  • Represent clients in all stages of the foreclosure process, including contested matters

  • Review conditions precedent to foreclosure filings (loan documents, financials, demand letters)

  • Draft and review legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence

  • Conduct legal research and apply relevant statutes, regulations, and case law

  • Attend court hearings and communicate with opposing counsel

  • Maintain and update internal and client systems with findings and case progress

  • Ensure all applicable deadlines are met for clients, courts, and investors

  • Safeguard compliance with foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections laws

  • Manage a high volume of cases with attention to detail and timeliness

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of professionalism

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to independently manage caseloads and deadlines

  • Prior experience in foreclosure and litigation matters (strongly preferred)

  • Familiarity with electronic case management systems (preferred)

  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to analyze legal situations and recommend corrective actions

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Michigan State Bar (required)

  • Admission to federal and bankruptcy courts in Michigan (preferred)
