Job Description: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general business litigation or complex commercial litigation and demonstrate a commitment to client service and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and argue motions in various litigation matters.
  • Take and defend depositions, ensuring thorough preparation and effective examination.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and developing trial strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft high-quality legal documents, including briefs and pleadings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client communications.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior associates, fostering their professional development.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.
  • Participate in business development activities to enhance the firm's visibility and client base.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on business or commercial litigation.
  • Proven track record of drafting and arguing motions and conducting depositions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials with a focus on litigation-related coursework.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
