Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Counsel to join its Environmental Litigation practice in Denver, Colorado. This role focuses on high-impact litigation involving environmental issues and toxic torts, primarily in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have significant complex litigation experience and a strong background in environmental law. Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Manage discovery processes including drafting, responding, and reviewing written discovery

  • Take and defend depositions in complex litigation matters

  • Analyze voluminous and technical document productions

  • Draft legal pleadings, complex motions, and other filings

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis

  • Represent clients at court hearings and other proceedings

  • Collaborate with internal teams on case strategy and legal innovation

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of complex litigation experience

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental or toxic tort litigation (preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects efficiently

  • Strong case management and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Eligibility to practice in Colorado required

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal technologies including Adobe, Microsoft Office, Excel

  • Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and legal tools such as PACER, ShareFile, Everlaw, Lexis, CaseAnywhere, FileVine, OneLegal, and Smart Advocate

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Strong legal analysis, advocacy, and drafting skills
