Job Overview:
A respected national plaintiff law firm located in Houston, Texas is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The position focuses on representing clients affected by asbestos exposure and may also involve work in complex medical malpractice, mass tort, or personal injury cases. The ideal candidate brings a client-centered mindset, a strong work ethic, and hands-on litigation experience. This is an in-person position with required travel.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Represent clients suffering from asbestos-related diseases

  • Meet with prospective clients to evaluate claims and present firm capabilities

  • Coordinate acquisition of medical, military, employment, and other relevant records

  • Conduct research into job sites, equipment, and product exposure

  • Manage assigned asbestos-disease cases through all phases of litigation

  • Oversee lien resolution

  • Draft complaints, motions, and manage court filings

  • Attend depositions, hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials

  • Maintain consistent client communication throughout the case lifecycle

Requirements:

  • Admission to a U.S. state bar (Texas preferred)

  • Strong case management and litigation experience

  • Prior exposure to asbestos, mass tort, complex medical malpractice, or personal injury cases preferred

  • Willingness and ability to travel

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License (State of Texas or eligible to obtain preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Effective organizational and time management skills

  • High initiative and sound professional judgment

  • Strong interpersonal abilities and client rapport

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
