Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Junior IP Generalist Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Costa Mesa, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience with a diverse range of intellectual property (IP) matters, including patent litigation, IP diligence, transfers and assignments, licenses, document review, deposition preparation, trade dress, trade secret infringement, and more.

Duties:

  • Assist on patent litigation matters as needed.
  • Conduct IP diligence for various legal proceedings.
  • Manage IP transfers and assignments efficiently.
  • Handle licenses for various intellectual property assets.
  • Conduct thorough document reviews for legal cases.
  • Prepare for depositions related to IP matters.
  • Address trade dress and trade secret infringement cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with a wide range of IP matters.
  • Exposure to trademark clearance, trademark and copyright filings, trademark litigation, copyright litigation, oppositions, and cancellations in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Experience preparing and responding to cease and desist letters.
  • Drafting and responding to Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy complaints.
  • Handling DMCA take-down notices to completion.
  • Exposure to online and social media infringement matters at pre-litigation, litigation, and settlement stages.
  • Patent prosecution experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Strong prosecution and litigation skills.
  • Ability to handle trademark and copyright filings.
  • Proficiency in managing trademark litigation cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to handle oppositions and cancellations.
  • Experience in drafting and responding to legal documents.
  • Familiarity with Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.
  • Knowledge of DMCA take-down processes.
  • Understanding of online and social media infringement matters.
