Privacy Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Privacy Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities:

• Manage privacy compliance under the U.S. State Privacy Law, GDPR, and GLBA.
• Address advertising, internet-based, and mobile privacy issues.
• Implement and oversee privacy programs.
• Handle regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security.
• Lead data breach response and preparedness efforts.
• Draft privacy notices, internal policies, incident response plans, and data processing addenda.

Requirements for this position include:

• 3-5 years of legal experience, with at least 2-3 years focused on practical privacy/data protection.
• 3-5 years of experience representing clients in intellectual property transactions with at least 2-3 years of practical privacy/data protection experience.
• J.D. degree and certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, and CIPT.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. and EU privacy and data security laws, including HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Transactional experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy and data protection contracts.
• Experience implementing incident response plans and advising on legal requirements.
• Strong academic credentials and superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to translate complex legal requirements into understandable language.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and escalate matters as needed.
• Capability to provide practical guidance to non-lawyers.
• Active membership and good standing in at least one State Bar.
