Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Prosecution Associate specializing in Organic Chemistry for its Boston, MA office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution and related intellectual property matters.

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications.
  • Conduct patent validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Support IP due diligence and patent litigation.
  • Engage in post-grant proceedings and other IP matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Registered to practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Admitted to a State Bar (Massachusetts preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

  • Advanced degree in chemistry (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S. with industry experience).

Certifications

  • Registered to practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
