A law firm in Nashville is seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Litigation and Class Action Associate Attorney to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal writing skills, be proactive, and demonstrate a strong business and entrepreneurial sense. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage internal and external client and counsel relationships. The successful candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines. Trial experience is preferred, along with previous class action litigation experience.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing for commercial litigation and class action matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage and prioritize case load to meet deadlines and client expectations
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and execution
  • Assist with client development and business generation efforts

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in TN
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation
  • Strong legal writing skills with attention to detail
  • Proactive with a strong business and entrepreneurial sense
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills
  • Experience managing multiple files and competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service
  • Trial experience preferred
  • Previous class action litigation experience preferred

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of TN
