A law firm is seeking a Junior to Midlevel Patent Agent (Life Sciences) for their Manitowoc office. The ideal candidate should possess a degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Admission to the USPTO is preferred. The successful candidate will excel in a team environment and be a highly-motivated self-starter with excellent business judgment, the ability to communicate clearly with clients, and the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent academic credentials and outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential. The Patent Agent (Life Sciences) will be responsible for contributing to the firm's patent prosecution efforts, with a focus on life sciences. The candidate must have a strong background in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. The role requires collaboration with team members, effective communication with clients, and the ability to draft patent applications. Duties:

  • Contribute to the patent prosecution efforts of the firm, specifically in the field of life sciences.
  • Collaborate with team members to draft high-quality patent applications.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients regarding patent-related matters.
  • Demonstrate excellent business judgment and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry, or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Admission to the USPTO (preferred).
  • 2+ years of patent prosecution experience at a firm or in-house.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
