A law firm in Mercer Island is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to represent creditors in bankruptcy matters. The candidate will interact with clients and staff professionally, prepare various legal documents, attend court hearings, manage caseloads efficiently, and ensure a smooth workflow within the firm. The ideal candidate must possess a Juris Doctor of Law degree, admission to the Washington State Bar or the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Washington, and proficiency in software tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. Prior bankruptcy experience and strong communication skills are preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors in bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases.
  • Prepare various legal documents, including Motions, Objections to Plan, and Fee Notices.
  • Attend court hearings associated with client representation in bankruptcy cases.
  • Manage assigned caseload efficiently to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with other attorneys and staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor of Law degree.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar or the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Washington, in good standing.
  • Admission to practice in the Federal District Courts in Washington, or eligibility requirements satisfied to get admitted.
  • 2-5 years of bankruptcy experience, preferably representing lenders and creditors.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting and software tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
