Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Garden City, NY, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 1-6 years of experience, particularly in federal court litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and be capable of handling a diverse caseload of litigation matters.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of litigation matters in state and federal courts, focusing on federal court litigation.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Attend depositions and participate in discovery proceedings.
• Develop case strategies and provide legal advice and counsel to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and management.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case developments and strategies.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Stay current on developments in case law and procedural rules relevant to litigation practice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
• 1-6 years of experience practicing law, focusing on litigation.
• Demonstrated experience in federal court litigation is required.
