A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Patent Attorney with 24 years of experience to support the firm's patent prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in electrical engineering. They will be responsible for drafting patent applications, prosecuting applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and conducting technical research.
 
Duties:
• Draft patent applications and prosecute applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Draft scientific and technical patent applications clearly and concisely.
• Conduct technical research using available resources to support patent-related matters.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to meet internal and client-driven deadlines.
• Provide technical expertise to assist clients in protecting their technology with patents.
 
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience drafting patent applications in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, and lasers.
• Registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Attention to detail, strong writing skills, and analytical skills.

Education:
Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
 
Certifications:
Registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills:
• Technical expertise in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, and lasers.
• Ability to draft patent applications clearly and concisely.
• Strong research skills to support patent-related matters.
